ATX-304 quick reference
What is ATX-304?
Oral pill that switches on AMPK, a cell energy sensor.
Used for energy use and body composition.
Early trials only. Not approved.
How ATX-304 works
Keeps AMPK switched on, raising cell energy use.
In mice it raised liver fat burning.
O304 also loosens mitochondria slightly (lab).
Raised muscle glucose uptake in mice.
What ATX-304 is studied for
+8% resting rate in 23 adults over 8 weeks (company).
Company reported MRI fat drops in the same trial.
Lower fasting glucose and HOMA-IR on metformin.
Better calf muscle blood flow and lower blood pressure.
Less liver fat and fibrosis in mice.
Better insulin levels, heart function and exercise.
ATX-304 dosing protocol
| Study | Daily amount |
|---|---|
| Phase 1b, 8 weeks (23 adults) | 400 mg tablet once a day, per company reports |
| Older version O304, phase 2a, 28 days | Dose not found in the sources read |
| Human dose beyond this | Not established |
The 400 mg dose comes from company news coverage of the ADA 2026 poster (abstract 1782-P). The EU registry entry (2023-505967-36-00) says tablets but hides the dose until 2027. No peer-reviewed paper yet.
Label and trial amounts come from the sources below. Community amounts are what people report; they have not been tested.
Mixing
Oral capsule. No mixing needed.
What the research found
Phase 1b, 23 adults with obesity and prediabetes, 8 weeks. Company-reported, not peer-reviewed:
Cambrian Bio release, June 2026 (via Longevity.Technology and Business Wire coverage). The company also reported better liver fat, belly fat, triglycerides and adiponectin, with no numbers in what I could read. Weight loss was minimal at this dose.
ATX-304 community experience
What users report. Not tested in trials.
Positive reports
- Endurance Some feel better cardio tolerance.
- Energy A mild lift or warmer body is reported.
- Glucose A few see lower meter readings; unproven.
Negative & mixed
- Little effect Training and diet confuse the picture.
- Stomach upset Nausea as the amount rises.
- Label mix-ups O-304 and ATX-304 may not be the same form.
ATX-304 stacking
AMPK plus ERR pathways. Not studied together.
Different targets. Not studied together.
Not studied together in people.
ATX-304 side effects & safety
Common
- Company: mostly mild, similar to placebo.
- Nausea or stomach upset (community).
- Warmth or poor sleep (community).
- No body temperature or heart rate problems reported (company).
Less common
- Low sugar is possible with diabetes drugs.
- Tingling or numbness reported by users, not a trial signal.
- Palpitations or chest pain need urgent care.
Precautions
- Diabetes drugs: glucose may drop further.
- Blood pressure drugs: O304 lowered pressure.
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding: no data.
- Tested athletes: WADA bans AMPK activators; ATX-304 is not named.
- Unknown product identity is a real gap.
Our verdict on ATX-304
Early hints of higher metabolic rate in a tiny trial. Retail capsules do not match trial tablets.
ATX-304 FAQ
Is ATX-304 the same as O-304?
Same program, different formulation and exposure.
Is it a peptide?
No. It is a small molecule.
