The protocol at a glance
No human dose is known. The registered phase 2a gives MOTS-c as a fixed daily injection under the skin for 12 weeks. The dose is not public.
| Item | What is known |
|---|---|
| Human dose | Not established (not public) |
| Related drug CB4211 | Company reports 25 mg daily under the skin for 4 weeks |
| Mouse studies | 0.5 mg/kg/day for 8 weeks or 5 mg/kg/day for 7 days (IP) |
CB4211 is a MOTS-c analog; its dose is from CohBar’s 2021 release. Mouse doses are from Lee C et al., Cell Metab 2015. Do not convert them to human doses.
Community protocols usually split a weekly total into three injections for several weeks. This is community talk, not a trial plan.
What people say they do, collected from community discussions. Not tested in a trial; shown so you can compare it with the evidence above.
Mixing
No mixing table here: this one is used as a capsule, nasal spray or skin product, or has no human amount to calculate from. The general mixing calculator works for any vial.
What the trials found
No MOTS-c human results exist yet. What there is:
NCT03998514 (CB4211 phase 1a/1b, completed, no posted results); CohBar topline release, Aug 2021.
Side effects
- No human safety data for MOTS-c itself.
- For the analog CB4211, the company reported only mild injection-site reactions and no serious events in a small trial.
How it works
Muscle and AMPK
A 16-amino-acid peptide coded in mitochondrial DNA. In mice it acts mainly on muscle and activates the AMPK energy sensor.
Insulin sensitivity
In mice it prevented weight gain and insulin resistance on a high-fat diet.
